First Major Retail Tenants Announced for Sunset Walk at Margaritaville Resort Orlando

200,000 square feet of entertainment-based retail currently being developed

ORLANDO, Fla.—Fenruary 2018—Margaritaville Resort Orlando is coming to life!  Encore Capital Management has announced the first major retailers to join the shopping, dining and entertainment portion of the project.  Sunset Walk at Margaritaville (formerly Shoppes at Rolling Oaks) will be a true entertainment destination that anchors the $750 million, 300-acre development offering the 187-room Margaritaville hotel, 900 resort rental homes, 300 timeshare units and a 12-acre, multi-million-dollar water park. The project, which sits on 40 acres of lagoons and lakes, is currently under construction near U.S. Highway 192 and State Road 429 in Osceola County, across the street from Disney’s Animal Kingdom.

One of the largest tenants to join the project is Studio Movie Grill, a state-of-the-art theater that will occupy 40,000 square feet. Studio Movie Grill offers an immersive entertainment venue where moviegoers can socialize, connect and enjoy an unparalleled movie experience with food and beverage service directly to their seat at anytime during the show.

Another large anchor tenant is GameTime, Florida’s premier family entertainment center.  Complete with a modern restaurant and sports bar, GameTime offers a huge selection of video arcade games, simulators, prize machines and over 60 TVs for prime viewing of sporting events. GameTime will occupy 24,000 square feet and will be one of the most active, family destinations in town.

World famous country group, Rascal Flatts, will be opening a contemporary dining restaurant with full-service bar, live entertainment, and retail space.  Flatts will showcase some of America’s favorite cuisines along with some of the bands favorite foods while guests enjoy Rascal Flatts 29 Top 10 Hits and other live local country music.

Another famous musical act will also have a presence at Sunset Walk.  Rock and Brews, backed by the famous rock group KISS, is a one-of-a-kind restaurant and entertainment concept designed to engage people of all ages with comfort food, a broad selection of international and craft beers, and an energized, family friendly, concert environment.

“Our goal was to create a true entertainment destination in the heart of the Margaritaville Orlando Resort, and we knew that we had to bring in new, unique, family-centric tenants to accomplish this,” said Art Falcone, CEO and Managing Principal of Encore Capital Management.  “We will be able to offer tourists and locals nearly 200,000 square feet of pedestrian-friendly shopping, more than 15 food and beverage options, green space and a concert pavilion for live music, children’s entertainment area and now a state-of the-art move theater. Sunset Walk at Margaritaville is becoming a can’t-miss Orlando destination.”

Other confirmed tenants include: Skechers , Bahama Bucks, Avalon Day Spa, Café Rio, Cold Stone Creamery, Paradise Spirits and Wine, BurgerFi and others in various stages of lease negotiations.

With a planned Phase 1 opening in November of 2018, retail leasing is filling up quickly, but there are still a few select spots left for interested retail or restaurant partners, Falcone said.

The new Margaritaville Resort Orlando will include a mix of resort vacation homes, cottages, villas and timeshare units. With a casual-luxe design and colorful exteriors, these homes will embody Margaritaville’s laid-back lifestyle with an authentic, tropical vibe and an escape to the islands experience inspired by Key West, the Bahamas, Jamaica, coastal Carolina, the Florida Keys and towns along the Gulf Coast.

Renters and homeowners will have access to all the development’s amenities, including the dining and entertainment district, swimming areas, the water park and recreation activities such as paddle boarding, snorkeling and more.

Located along U.S. 192, the project is just southwest of Walt Disney World and will provide a huge economic boost to the area.
